Resources for Search Engine Marketing
Search Engines can be a great way to increase traffic to your web site,
and many still offer free listings
(for paid listings, see
Pay Per Click Resources).
Obviously, you tend to get more traffic from search engines, if your
site is listed near the top of the results for relevant searches, and this
requires carefully designing your web site and pages.
Here are some search engine marketing resources:
- WebPosition Software
Probably the leading software for creating pages that rank well in search engines. A free trial version is available.

- EasySEO Software

Additionally, because the search engines use automated software to
build their indexes, it is possible to "fool" them by using special
cloaking software or scripts, to improve your rank.
Cloaking products provide
one set of web page content
(content designed to achieve a good rank for your keywords) to
the search engine's spider, and a different set (containing your
actual page designs) to web surfers who visit your site.
However, many search engines discourage cloaking, and some have been
known to ban sites if they discover that they are using cloaking
techniques. We understand that this is because the search engines
feel the cloaked sites may be devaluing the quality of the search results.
Because of this, our company, has chosen not to use cloaking. However,
should you want to use cloaking, here are some resources:
- Phantom Cloaking Software
This is software that generates optimized pages, includes a keyword suggestion tool, and claims to protect your highly optimized pages from source code theft.
- SellWide Cloaker
This is Perl (CGI) cloaking script which claims to be undetectable and also logs spider visits to your site.
- Search Engine Cloaker
This is a fairly well-known program that generates optimized cloaked pages.
