I have been exchanging emails with Milana Nastetskaya, who is the author of "How To Create Your First Business Web Site in 10 days!"

Milana is one of those people who I had ran across before (at various message boards), was always impressed by, but somehow never got to know. I have to say that getting to know her a bit more has certainly been a pleasure and has reinforced my impression of her being an intelligent and astute lady.

Milana gave me a chance to review her PDF e-book, "How To Create Your First Business Web Site in 10 days!". I was seriously impressed.

This is the information that I would have killed for when I first started out. She tells you, in detail, step-by-step, and in clear language, the exact steps for building a web site that works - using free and low cost tools.

Milana's book is divided into 11 Chapters, and the idea is you work through approximately one chapter per day (she actually gives you a detailed plan for how best to do this near the start of the book).

The chapters are:

Introduction + Chapter 1: This serves and introduction and helps build confidence that you can do it.
Chapter 2: Explains domain names
Chapter 3: Explains web hosting
Chapter 4: Shows how to download and set up the tools for editing your web page.
Chapter 5+6: Show you how to design your site. Milana's tool of choice being Netscape Composer
Chapter 7: Introduces HTML
Chapter 8: Shows you how to use FTP to transfer pages from your computer to your web host.
Chapter 9: Shows you various freebies you can add to your site to enhance it.
Chapter 10: Shows how to accept credit cards.
Chapter 11: Shows you how to fix problems with your site.

There are also 4 helpful appendices that answer common questions, show how to set up email, contain a dictionary of terminology, and introduce the topic of writing effective sales copy.

So why do I like about this?

It's very clear - simple to understand language and to the point
It's very complete - covers all the main topics in detail
There are lots of screen shots
There are 17 video presentations (screen recordings) showing you EXACTLY how to perform the various steps.

Conclusion

In case, you haven't already realized - I love this! Milana has done a tremendous job. A truly outstanding piece of work.

The only caveat I would give is that this is not for those who are already expert web authors - you probably already know the stuff in here.

However if you are a beginner or intermediate web author, and want to either follow the entire course, or fill in some gaps in your knowledge, I highly recommend (Editor's Choice) Milana's "How To Create Your First Business Web Site in 10 days!"
